Our Philosophy: Radical Transparency and Constructive Feedback

Welcome to CurveballCritiques.com, a community built to bring transparency to the world of youth travel baseball. Our mission is to empower parents and players to make informed decisions by sharing authentic, honest experiences without fear of reprisal. This platform works because our community is committed to providing high-quality, constructive feedback. These guidelines exist to protect the integrity of our platform, the anonymity of our reviewers, and the constructive nature of the conversation.

What We Encourage in a Review

Firsthand Experience: Your reviews must be based on your direct, firsthand experience with an organization within the last 24 months. We do not allow hearsay or second-hand accounts.

Be Specific and Balanced: The most helpful reviews provide specific examples and context for their ratings. Explain why you rated the coaching a certain way or what led to your assessment of the team culture. If you had a mixed experience, sharing both the positives and the negatives is incredibly valuable.

Focus on the Organization: Keep your feedback centered on the conduct, policies, and performance of the organization, teams, and coaches in their professional capacity. Critique the coaching methods, the financial transparency, or the developmental philosophy.

What is Not Allowed on CurveballCritiques.com

To maintain a safe and credible platform, we strictly prohibit the following:

  • Personally Identifiable Information (PII): Do not post the full names of minors, personal phone numbers, email addresses, or home addresses. Our goal is to review organizations, not to single out individual children.
  • Hate Speech, Threats, and Harassment: Content that is profane, hateful, harassing, or threatening will be removed immediately. This includes personal attacks on any individual.
  • Knowingly False Statements: While we protect your opinions, you are responsible for the factual accuracy of your review. Reviews containing claims of illegal activity should be reported to the authorities, not just posted here.
  • Spam and Advertisements: Do not use reviews to advertise a product, service, or a rival team.
  • Incentivized or Inauthentic Reviews: Organizations are strictly forbidden from "review gating"—selectively soliciting reviews only from happy families or offering incentives for positive reviews. Users are forbidden from posting reviews in exchange for payment or other rewards.

How Moderation Works

Our goal is to ensure all voices are heard while maintaining the integrity of the platform. We use a hybrid moderation strategy to achieve this.

  • Automated Scan: All submitted reviews first pass through an automated system to flag clear violations of our guidelines, such as profanity or PII.
  • Human Review: Our team of trained human moderators reviews content flagged by the automated system and performs regular spot-checks to ensure compliance with our guidelines. Their role is not to judge the "truth" of an opinion, but to enforce these community rules fairly and consistently.
  • Appeals Process: If your review is removed, you will be notified and told which guideline was violated. We have a formal appeals process if you believe your content was removed in error.

By submitting a review, you help the entire travel baseball community. Thank you for contributing to a more transparent and accountable environment for our kids.
