SUMMER 2026

9U

We cannot recommend Hit Digs Barrington baseball organization to other families based on our experience. There was a complete lack of transparency regarding the makeup of the 9U team. What was presented as a true 9U team actually consisted of only 4 legitimate 9U players and 11 players who were truly 8U. Throughout the season, the organization sacrificed opportunities for the actual 9U players by choosing twice to play in 8U tournaments that the 9U players were not even eligible to participate in. Despite this, those wins were still counted as part of the 9U team’s record, which raises serious concerns about integrity and fair competition. Only a few weeks into the season, it became clear the organization prioritized keeping the 8U families happy after complaints about the team not winning immediately. Instead of honoring the commitments and promises made to the 9U players and supporting their development, the concerns of the 9U families were largely ignored. The decision-making appeared financially driven, seemingly focused on retaining the younger players for a future 9U roster next year. The biggest disappointment was watching the development of the true 9U players be sacrificed in favor of short-term organizational interests. Families deserve honesty, transparency, and a commitment to player development at the level they signed up for. Unfortunately, we did not experience that here.
