Roster Raise

Campaign Guide

Everything you need to know — from signing up to receiving your first direct payout. Follow these 7 steps to launch a successful fundraiser for your team.

1

Account Creation & Role Selection

Begin by visiting the Curveball Critiques unified sign-up page (/signup). You will be presented with a clean grid of specific role cards to self-identify before creating your account:

  • Coaches: Select the card for Club Directors & Travel Coaches ("I run a travel team or organization and want to claim my profile…") or the card for High School Coaches ("I coach a high school program…").
  • Players: Select the Player card ("I want to build my free recruiting profile, verify my metrics, and raise funds via Roster Raise.").
2

Link to Your Team

  • Coaches: You must claim your organization or team. Search for your organization via the global search box, go to the profile details, and hit the "Claim" button.
  • Players: Select your organization and specific team from the dropdown menus. If your organization or team is missing, click "Can't find your team? Request it" to open a modal where you can input your details — your registration completes while the team is placed in "Pending" status for admin approval.
3

Connect Your Bank Account (Coaches/Admins Only)

Once your team is approved, navigate to your Fundraisers dashboard and click on the Stripe Setup tab. Click the button to initiate the Stripe Connect onboarding flow, which is securely hosted directly by Stripe.

High School Teams: You are strictly prohibited from using a personal coach account. The connected bank account must belong to an official Booster Club (501c3) or the Athletic Department/School District.
4

Build and Activate the Campaign (Coaches/Admins)

  • Go to the Campaigns tab and click + New Campaign.
  • Fill in the campaign title (e.g., "Help Lakeview Reach Regionals"), your team's financial goal, the start and end dates, and upload a cover image.
  • Submitting this form creates a DRAFT campaign.
  • To take the fundraiser public, click Activate and check the box confirming you agree to the Roster Raise Organizer Agreement.
5

Empower the Roster (Players)

Once the campaign is active, players are invited as participants. Every player receives a personalized sharing link. Players can easily copy their unique URL from their dashboard and text or email it to grandparents, aunts, uncles, and family friends.

6

Compete and Share (Gamification)

As donations start rolling in, the campaign relies on friendly competition to go viral.

  • The Thermometer: The main campaign page displays a massive animated progress bar tracking the team's total funds raised against the goal.
  • The Leaderboard: Players compete on a live, real-time ranking to see who can raise the most money for the team.
  • The Donor Wall: Supporters who donate can leave custom shoutouts and messages of encouragement that display publicly on the campaign feed.
7

Receive Direct Payouts

There are zero platform holds and no waiting for physical checks. When a donation is made, the checkout session automatically splits the funds — Curveball Critiques retains a highly competitive 5–10% platform fee (along with standard Stripe processing fees), and the remaining funds are routed instantly and securely into the team's connected bank account.
